Imagine Coming Back as a Tree After You Die, With This Natural Alternative to Coffins

Wouldn’t you want a second chance at life by being able to come back as a tree after you die? Sounds crazy, right? But with new burial methods being constructed, there will be something more to look forward to in the after life. One of the projects that will turn you into a tree after you pass on, has already been completed. It is called the Bios Urn. It is biodegradable, and designed to hold your ashes down below the soil mixture so that it can release nutrients to grow the tree. How amazing does that that sound? Your ashes could produce a beautiful tree. Even better yet, you actually get to pick what tree you want to be. Some options are maple, pine, and gingko trees.

The other project still needs approval until it is readily available as a burial option, but will create many benefits once it is finished. This method was developed in Italy by two artists named Anna Citetelli and Raoul Bretzel. They named their project, Caplsula Mundi.  Their idea is one that would turn the body of the deceased into nutrients for a tree. The body is placed in the fetal position in a biodegradable burial pod, simulating the position that takes place in the womb before birth. A seed or a young tree is planted on top of the pod, and as the tree starts to grow, it will use the nutrients that the pod provides.

Knowing that there is definitely one option, and another on the way, that will allow you to turn yourself into a tree after you go, is a very comforting thought. With these methods, our life has a way of continuing on by becoming a living tree. Imagine seeing forests of trees, instead of graveyards. Each tree is a person that is full of life with branches and leaves that sway in the wind, instead of tombstones that are cold and lifeless. It’s hard to lose your loved ones, but giving them that second chance to become something living again is good for the environment, and for you too. You will be happy to see that there are strong, beautiful trees in the ground, instead of graves. Let life grow to be the beauty that it holds. Don’t close it off with a coffin, when we have the ability to create a forest of happy memories.
